Your conversation
When you are signed in and talking about a saved venture, Boardside saves the written conversation privately to that venture as you go. On your Quorum, you can download or delete it under “Your conversations”. Voice transcripts may contain errors. We do not save audio recordings here. Signed-out conversations stay in the current session and disappear when you end it or reload. Em and Liam are AI cofounders, not people.
When you sign in
We keep your account details, project summary, picture, plan, evidence, progress, private quorums and saved conversations. We also keep a short “what works for me” note to help your companion adapt. These are linked to your account and are not visible to other founders.
When you choose “Keep this plan?”, only your picture and plan are temporarily carried through sign-in in your browser. The conversation is not.
AI providers and your microphone
Messages are sent to AI providers to produce replies and short project summaries. Voice calls send audio to our voice provider. If you choose browser dictation or speech, your browser's speech service may process it. Providers have their own processing and retention settings, so we cannot promise that nothing leaves your device or that providers retain nothing.
Your camera is never used. The video hellos are recorded AI videos, not live calls with people. The microphone is used for voice or dictation with your permission. Text works without microphone access.
Founding beta terms
Free access for the beta. In return, we'll ask for one 20-minute feedback call, and we use anonymous usage data to improve the method.
Access is free during the invitation-only founding beta. Voice use is subject to your account’s monthly allowance. Any founding-price reservation takes no payment.
Progress, not surveillance
We count anonymous milestones and optional useful/not-useful votes using fixed categories and a random browser identifier. These events do not contain what you say or an account identifier. Your own project and quorum information stays private to your account.
For the founding beta, we keep your invite, agreement timestamp, voice session duration and weekly activity against your account to manage access and limits. Sarah sees aggregate success measures, waitlist emails and founding reservations. These records never include your chat. Joining the waitlist stores your email and consent. Reserving founding pricing stores your name, email and chosen plan, without taking payment.
Resetting what we remember
End a conversation to clear the current chat from the screen. Saved conversations remain on the venture’s Quorum until you delete them there. Deleting a conversation does not delete its picture or plan. Replaying a companion's hello does not clear your conversation or saved work. Signed-out visits do not remember your picture or plan. Signed in, open “What works for me” under your projects and choose “Reset” to clear that note. You can edit your picture, plan and quorums directly. Clearing the chat does not delete a saved project.
